There appears, in the follow-
ing pages, the last published
work of a distinguished jurist
of Quebec and Canadian law
whose untimely death has left
stricken the several communi-
ties with which, in a short but
brilliant career, he was asso-
ciated.
As a professor of law at
McGill and elsewhere, as an
active member of his profession-
al corporation, The Chamber of
Notaries, and as a major force
in the work of law reform in
Quebec, his many contributions
to the science of law are well
known in his own province and
beyond. The bibliography of his
written work appearing here
attests to the abundance of his
spirit as a scholar but cannot,
alas, testify to the fond memory
in which he will be held by all
those who knew him.

dans sa province natale et bien
au-delh. Le repertoire qui est ici
donn6 de ses 6crits atteste de sa
grande fertilit6 d’esprit mais ne
saura, hd1as, jamais tdmoigner
du tendre souvenir qui vivra
dans le coeur de ceux qui l’ont
connu.
